iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum Review

🌿TEA TREE RELIEF SERUM 🌿
🔑 Tea Tree Leaf Water 67%.
🔑 Centella Asiatica Leaf Water 19.5%.
• Reviewing this in terms of its claims:
🍃 Powerful Relief: I do find this to be relieving but perhaps not as powerful as it claims. However, it does provide relief every single time I apply this without fail.
🍃 Soothing Care: I find that my skin is less inflamed every time I use this, in this way it does soothe and to some extent reduce pain when I am breaking out.
🍃 Natural Moisturising: In terms of moisture this does not provide a ton but does enough as I have not noticed any dry patches recently. However, I feel this is more down to my whole skincare routine rather than just this one product.
🍃 Whitening and wrinkle care: I think by whitening they actually mean brightening, which this serum hasn’t noticeably done for my skin. In terms of wrinkle care I don’t really have wrinkles but I’ve been using this on my forehead to see whether it’ll help with my frown lines in which makeup sometimes tends to set but it has not helped with that.
💚 Overall I rate this 3.5/5, this serum is just satisfactory, I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed by it but I’m just not wowed. Would I repurchase, not really, unless I notice anything impressive from continued use. I will say I have been using this for 2 months or so and there is still so much left!

Eyenlip  Calamansi Vitamin Solution Mask Review

[ Notice: photo watermarks was my username before. Read the important notice here: click ]
📍 Claims:
✔️ Calamansi contains about 30 times more Vitamin C than lemon so it’s great for beauty treatments and gives your skin what you should be proud of.
✔️ Provides vitamins to the dull and lifeless skin to vitalize so that you can be confident about your skin.
✔️ This is a mask that contains Niacinamide with Adenosine components that helps with skin whitening and wrinkle reduction.

✔️ The soft feeling of natural color microfiber sheet that allows anyone to use it without irritation.

👸🏼 Impression:
✨ True to its words, it doesn’t leave any stingy feeling on my skin.

✔️ Odorless. I don’t have any issues with the smell but, just in case some of you do have, then this mask will be great for you.
✨ Contains a lot of serum left in the package. You can use it with your DIY mask by soaking it in the serum inside the package or put the serum on your neck.
🤔 The mask reminds me of Watson’s 365 mask (due to its thin feel)
✔️ Leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. Fit for dry and other types of skin.

So far, I haven’t had any issues or breakouts caused by the mentioned products. I usually am careful with Mask Sheets as some made my skin break out even after the first use.
Where to Purchase: I got this as a freebie from Kyoung’s Korean Cosmetic.

SanDaWha Liposome Skin Softener Review

Been wanting to review this one forever but life seems to keep getting in the way. 😭

Legit got sent home from work this week bc I got sick after working the weekend so had to fly twice in one day. 🙄

ANYWAY…picked up this #SanDaWhaLiposome Skin Softener from @beautytapofficial in mid-May and I’m already 2/3 of the way through the bottle…all you skincare junkies out there know that’s the highest compliment and means I really love it. 😂

Unlike western toners which are often on the more astringent side, this #kbeauty skin softener is milky and hydrating and soothing and nutrient-rich and light all at the same time. 😍

Very lightly and pleasantly scented, a bit floral…a bit citrus-y…fades pretty quickly, which is just the way I like it. 😊

My skin always feels immediately softer and nourished (if it’s possible for your skin to FEEL nourished haha)…it’s full of herbal extracts including camellia flower, a staple in Asian skincare w antioxidant and moisturizing properties. 💕

Skin feels a little sticky/tacky immediately after applying but this doesn’t bother me since toning is the first step in my routine so any tackiness gets quickly covered up with the following layers. 🙃

I’ve been using this literally every day and can’t keep my hands off of it…basically about to purchase a refill before I’m done even though I have other toners I haven’t touched yet 🤷‍♀️ honestly, it’s #HolyGrailstatus for me and when I saw it on BeautyTap’s Top KBeauty Toners list I couldn’t help but agree. 😁

Have you tried this at all? What are your favorite toners? 👇

COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Review 🐌

image2

Let me just start off by saying that this item really lives up to the hype! And to be completely honest I think it’s definitely earned its place on my holy grail list.

This was one of the first products that introduced me to k-beauty and it’s a damn good introduction to the entire world that is Korean skincare and Cosrx as a brand.

This product contains a whopping 96% of Snail Mucin filtrate as the name suggests, making it super soothing, healing, and moisturizing.

I’ve definitely noticed that since I’ve started using this product, any spots that I have that I pick at heals a lot faster. Although I don’t see this helping with hyperpigmentation too much it still works very well in healing over the skin.

The texture of this is super stringy and slimey, it’s what you’d expect Snail Mucin to feel like. The first bottle I got was more of a gel compared to my second bottle, which makes me wonder how fresh my first bottle was. But it still works the same and keeps my skin super plump and hydrated.

This is also just a great product to layer with since it’s moisturizing and sinks in super quickly! With no trace of tackiness or a film. I also like to use this around my eyes instead of an eye cream because it’s lighter and really helps any dry patches I have around my eyes to become hydrated again.

Overall, I really enjoy this product and feel like I can’t live without it now that I use it.

I would definitely repurchase this product and I already have one as a backup. This is such a well-rounded product that deserves all the hype that it gets! I can’t recommend it enough!

Tony Moly The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Lotion Review

tonymoly chok chok

As I am a sucker for green tea stuff I had to give this a try. This was on my radar for a long time. I always have some lotion or cream of green tea. I feel for our climate and my skin type green tea works amazingly. The soothing fragrance comes as a bonus.
The consistency is watery lotion exactly what I prefer, even if it makes my skin look oily after 2-3 applications but I love it that way.

🌿 Packaging: A sturdy plastic bottle with a light and dark green combo is apt for this product.

🌿 Texture: It’s very light and makes a thin smear after spreading it out on a face and neck, absorbs in no time.

🌿 Fragrance: Typical green tea smell, very mild and soothing to senses which doesn’t stay for long.

🌿 My Observations:  The bottle says it contains 100% pure green tea ferment extract.  Green tea and glycerine are the major components on the list. All the ingredients fall under 1st and 2nd grade of safety level.

🌿 My Results: The Chok Chok Green Tea Lotion has provided hydration.  It works for me as an anti-inflammatory too. The skin feels soft and supple.  I apply 2-3 layers if just using this alone. It gives a soothing effect instantly.

🌿 My Recommendations:
1) For ample hydration.
2) Great as a daily moisturizer for dry skin/ dehydrated skin.
3) Works well as a Primer.

BANILA CO CLEAN IT ZERO ORIGINAL CLEANSING BALM Review *NEW FORMULA*

I try out the newly formulated Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm

Banila Co has arguably the most well-known oil cleansers in the K-Beauty world with the Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm. With a product that is so effective and have spokespeople/models such as Jessica and Taeyeon (Girl’s Generation) and Hyorin (SISTAR), it’s hard to deny why people love this brand and their products. Banila Co recently updated their cleansing balms with a new formula that removed the mineral oil from the ingredients; which can irritate those with sensitive skin. The four versions in the Clean It Zero line are Original, Purifying, Revitalizing, and Nourishing. Along with the ingredients, Banila Co also updated the packaging to a more chic and simple design with pastel colors.

Details and Review:

  • Item Claims: Melts off all make-up, including waterproof, while exfoliating and brightening.
  • Directions: As the first step in your skincare routine, use the provided spatula to scoop out a small amount (I use a dime size). Then, rub balm onto dry skin. Then, emulsify the balm by adding water and rinse.
  • Scent: None.
  • Notable Ingredients: Papaya Extract (exfoliator), Acerola Extract (brightening). This new formula also includes no mineral oil, but instead a natural ester oil. As well as Vitamin E acetate in place of butylated hydroxytoluene.
  • Quantity: Original Size – 3.38 oz/100mL or Large Size – 6.09oz/180mL
  • Price: $16 for Original Size, $30 for Large Size
  • Overall Rating: 5/5
  • Review: The original Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm was the very first cleansing oil I’ve ever tried. And it was the best make-up remover ever. However, it always did irritate my eyes. After hearing they had reformulated the balm without the mineral oil, I knew I had to try it out again. And, it is the best ever! There is zero irritation after using the newly formulated Banila Co Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm. It effectively removes all of my make-up and waterproof mascara without my eyes burning. Also, the melting point is higher now so that it doesn’t melt as easily if I have to travel with it, especially during the summer. With a pH level of 6.1, this cleansing balm is great for those with sensitive skin types. Out of the 4 versions of Banila Co cleansing balms, the Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm is the cheapest by $9. And as for the packaging, Banila Co nailed it. From the holographic box to the simple and clean container design in pastel pink, it’s super trendy and eye-catching. As one of the most affordable and effective cleansing balms out there, I highly recommend picking up Banila Co Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm!

[Secret Key] Aloe Soothing Moist Toner Review

Secret Key Aloe Soothing Moist Toner Review

IMG-0903

So, recently I’ve been binge buying k-beauty products and I’m really ashamed of it (but it means much more reviews here, so I suppose it’s a good thing in the end, right?). This Secret Key Aloe Soothing Moist Toner is one of my newest purchases and I just can’t believe it’s almost gone. And when I noticed my journey with this bottle is coming to an end, I knew I had to post a review of it because it truly deserves it. So here it goes.

Where I bought it

RoseRoseShop

How much I paid

$3.58

Packaging

The toner came in a transparent plastic bottle (see the photo above). No additional packaging was provided so I was a bit surprised as I thought it was opened and then sent to me. But when I looked at the bottle closer I noticed the ingredients list, a short description of the product (in English) and instructions how to use it (in Korean so I’m not going touch on this aspect of the product here). It made me convinced the packaging was authentic as most of the products that come in a bottle + an additional cardboard packaging have all this information on the outmost packaging (the cardboard one) so the toner’s bottle had to be the outmost packaging in this case. Anyway, I quite liked the bottle itself as it was plastic (so quite resistant to any damage resulting from dropping it on the floor) and it was really easy to get the contents out – I just had to slightly tilt it to get it onto a cotton pad.

Texture and Scent

IMG-0906IMG-0908

I loved it. Really. Loved. It. In terms of texture and scent alike. The texture was really watery. It almost seemed like scented water. But the scent itself was really delicate. When I smelled it from the close, I could notice it, but when I applied on my skin I could hardly smell anything. That’s a very good thing for me. Not only it’s almost scent-free but it also absorbs very fast and doesn’t leave any tacky feeling. Whenever I applied it, I could put a layer of another product straight away and it didn’t feel like I was overwhelming my skin.

Ingredients

Aloe Vera Leaf Water (9,700ppm), Glycerin, 1,2- Hexanediol, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Beta-Glucan, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polysorbate 80, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Nonoxynol-12

Because the ingredients list was in Korean, I translated it with the help of Google Translate and decided to paste it here as a text. As you can see, it’s a really impressive ingredients list as for a toner. According to the rating on CosDna almost all of the ingredients are listed as green meaning they’re safe for the skin. There are only a couple that are listed as yellow (Polysorbate 80 and Nonoxynol-12) which means they may be somewhat harmful to the health/skin if used long-term. However, Polysorbate 80 has the rating 3 (the lower number the better and the lowest rating is 1 so it’s just one number away from the green rating as green starts at 2) and Nonoxynol-12 is the last ingredient on the list which means that its concentration in the product is very low and hence makes it less harmful if at all.

Most of the ingredients in the toner are also very beneficial for the skin. There are lots of plant extracts, Beta-Glucan, Snail Secretion Filtrate and of course Aloe Vera in three different versions- as Aloe Vera Leaf Water, Juice and Extract. Such a feast for the skin this toner is!

Performance and my thoughts

As I already mentioned above, I love this Secret Key toner. Why? There are two aspects of it that made me fall in love with it. The first one is a more technical one-it absorbs fast, leaves no tacky feeling and the packing makes it easy to get the toner out in the first place. The second relates to the effects it had on my skin. It moisturized it very well and made all the products following it absorb quicker as my skin was already well prepped. It also calmed my skin down- because I went through quite a big emotional upheaval before I started using the toner my skin was prone to break outs (and actually had a pretty nasty one) and was really rough and dull. But after about a week of using it my skin became more even, was properly moisturized and looked more healthy. The break out also disappeared and now there’s no sign it ever happened.

All in all, all I can say is why I got to love this Secret Key Aloe Soothing Moist Toner and not much I can say what I disliked about it. Maybe just that the ingredients list and the instructions were in Korean but that’s got nothing to do with the contents but with the packaging.

That’s all from me. I hope you liked the review.

Have you tried this toner before? If yes, share your thoughts in the comments!
