Heimish Hydrogel Eye Patch – Bulgarian Rose Water Review

unnamed (1)unnamed

THE PRODUCT: Heimish – Hydrogel Eye Patch – Bulgarian Rose Water

THE GOOD: I loved the scent of rose water which wasn’t too overpowering and how it was glittering (I’m a sucker for glitter). It felt nice and cool to the touch and really did make my under eyes feel less puffy.

THE BAD: I didn’t enjoy the slimy, sticky texture and it left a weird film on my face that was hard for my skin to soak up even after rubbing and patting the leftover residue (I usually remove this with micellar water soaked in a cotton pad). The eye patch didn’t stick to my face so it’s only great if you’re lying down and relaxing, not if you’re trying to multitask or sitting/standing up.

THE VERDICT: It was an okay product, it did its job and I was happy with the results. The only thing I didn’t like was the texture and how it wasn’t sticking to my face properly.

Son&Park Beauty Water Review

💧SON&PARK Beauty Water💧
”It is the smart cleansing liquid based on a natural plant therapy that exfoliates and moisturises the skin at once. Beauty Water can be used daily, morning and evening. It is recommended as the first step for the perfect makeup. It cleans any old dead skin cells to make skin feel sleek and soft. It contains an array of skin-loving ingredients to boost skin’s moisture immediately. Beauty Water is also an ideal way to refresh skin anytime you want, mid-day or when washing with a cleanser isn’t an option. You will instantly feel how young and healthy your skin is after this Beauty water.” 🌚
So I’ve been using it religiously day and night everyday, and yessss it does what it claims. It is definitely not only a toner. It also exfoliates, moisturizes and gives instant hydration to my skin. I loveeee using it especially after I used a wash-off mask as it completely removes the residues that may clog your pores.💆
Overall, this miracle water gives a smooth, hydrated and glowy skin. Even though it is not as moisturizing, it helps controls my oil and sebum production. It might cost a lot, but a little goesss a veeryyyy long wayyyyy. 🙆
Tips: I applied this toner using a cotton pad as it also acts as a physical toner, and I can say it is a really good and gentle exfoliator. Also, I decant a small volume of this toner into a tiny spray bottle as my to-go mist. Instant refreshness! 💧

COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol Review

One K-beauty brand that I’m super happy I discovered from watching beauty influencers’ (more specifically, Joan Kim!) Youtube videos is COSRX. This skincare brand has never disappointed, and I like how everything is so fuss-free and straightforward – kind of like a drastic change from the usual amazing packaging of K-beauty products, but not a bad change to have once in a while.

Product Description

The Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol is a toner that works hard to hydrate and prep your skin for the next steps in your skin care routine and maintains your pores as a gentle chemical exfoliator.

This formula contains 69.8% Black Bee Propolis to soothe, repair and hydrate skin while inhibiting bacterial growth—perfect for breakouts and acne-prone skin. Natural AHAs and BHAs also aid in controlling excess sebum, clearing impurities and dead skin cells, and helping your skin cells renew so your skin becomes clearer and brighter while maintaining natural moisture-retention.

This is a great toner for sensitive, combination, or oily skin, and especially those dealing with breakouts and acne.

This product has a pH level of 4

Official Retail Price in Singapore: SGD 26.90

Ingredient List

Propolis Extract, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, water, Glycolic Acid, Betaine Salicylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Allantoin, Cassia Obtusifolia Seed Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethyl Hexanediol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil

I know this ingredient list sounds quite scary, especially when you see alcohol ranked 2nd(!) I had a lot of doubts when I was looking at this product, but the product description seemed to fit what I was looking for. I was hoping to buy a toner that could hydrate my skin while keeping my acne at bay, and this toner seemed to do just the thing, so I took a leap of faith and went ahead with this purchase.

Packaging: I don’t really like my skincare products to look too frivolous, although I do love pretty makeup packaging. Having something clean and sophisticated gives the impression that it’s more scientifically-formulated, if you understand what I mean haha. I’ve brought this along on my travels and had no problems with leakages whatsoever. It’s not too bulky too, so it can definitely fit snugly into your luggage.

Texture: Like most other toners, it feels just like water, so it gets absorbed by the skin very easily. I’m not too big a fan of the smell, though.

Effectiveness: I have pretty mixed thoughts about this, but mostly positive.

So when I first started using this product, I was going through a lot of stress, bad eating, terrible sleeping habits (all thanks to school) and I felt like my skin might die if I didn’t use a toner that could at least promise to keep my skin looking like it won’t die any time soon. I’m not exaggerating when I say this toner SAVED my skin during those dreary, exhausting weeks. My internal organs might have been dying, but my skin was clearly surviving. It remained relatively clear for weeks with the occasional zits, but nothing drastic!  It was the best condition that I had seen my skin in for a long time, and I really was quite amazed.

However, after I used it for a period of time, it seemed a little like it wasn’t so effective anymore. My lifestyle habits have definitely been improving since then, so I don’t know why I still sprout acne patches so often these days.

Final Verdict

I hate having mixed feelings about a product that clearly worked for me, and which I would definitely want to recommend 😦

I might give this another shot in future with a new bottle (I just finished mine!) to see if I can still make this work for me, because this is honestly the best toner I’ve used in a long time. I do think this will work great for people with sensitive and acne-prone skin – I can truly vouch for this. I’m just slightly puzzled by the reduced efficacy towards the end of the bottle. Maybe something else in my makeup routine is messing my skin up rather than the toner, but it still shows that this toner is not 100% effective at preventing acne. Oh well.

COSRX Low pH First Cleansing Milk Gel Review

cosrx milk cleanser

It’s time for me to review the Cosrx Low PH Milk Gel Cleanser that I have been using for the last couple of weeks.

I was going to wait until I had used it a month before writing my review, but I think I have made my decision already. I know there are a lot of Cosrx fans waiting for this, but you might want to sit down…. it’s not good news I’m afraid.

Let me start by saying that Cosrx is a brand that I absolutely adore. Their minimal, no-fuss products are, for the majority, fantastic in my eyes from a performance and price point of view. It’s not often that I find a Cosrx product that I don’t love, but today is one of those days.

The milk gel cleanser is designed for those with sensitive skin who can’t use an oil cleanser or cleansing balm etc… please note that this is NOT a replacement for your Low PH Gel Cleanser, but to be used BEFOREHAND.

I would say it’s more of a white gel than a milky texture. You apply this directly to your dry face as per the product instructions and massage as you would a cleansing balm (however, Cosrx on insta have suggested it should be used on a wet face… I tried both and there is no difference🤷🏻‍♀️). You do have to use quite a bit each time as the product sinks in quite quickly, but it doesn’t emulsify that well either.

Now, this product does remove light make-up, but it did struggle badly in removing my full coverage foundation and mascara. Cosrx themselves have also said that this product will not remove make-up, so you will need to ensure that this is cleansed off separately beforehand.

For me, I wear make-up every day, so using this as part of my evening routine simply did not work (unless I want to start triple cleansing). I imagine most people will have similar situations, so please take this into account. So I switched this product into my morning routine because, you know, your girl has to double cleanse twice a day with oily skin, but unfortunately this just wasn’t enough for me 😫 I wasn’t removing the excess oils well enough like I would with an oil cleanser, and so I found my skin greasier far earlier than usual. I have therefore concluded that this is aimed more towards sensitive dry or sensitive normal skin types who don’t wear make-up. Not for me 😭😞 I wanted to love this so bad….🌸🌿😊

[Mizon] Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream Review

Mizon Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream Review

I rarely go for eye creams. The reason for that is I usually buy a moisturizer that I can use all over my face, including on the eye area. But about two months ago I decided to finally purchase the eye cream as the skin under my eyes had got a lot worse. Too much stress, dehydration, lots of (forced) laughing and smiling (forced especially when you meet new people and want to come across as nice and friendly, you’re having the worst day of your life but because those new people are important, you just glue the smile to your face). So, enough of moaning, I bought this eye cream because I thought it’s high time I finally did it and the timing was about right to rescue my eye area.

So what I did was I went straight away to my favourite online k-beauty store (roseroseshop.com) and found the cheapest (I know!) and the most appealing eye cream I could find within a few hours (it took me ages, to be very honest). But ultimately I found Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream by Mizon and I was delighted by the purchase. So here’s the review of the product and my thoughts on its performance.

Because of a mini-version of the eye cream, there was not much on the packaging in terms of the product’s claims. Especially in English. But there was one line which roughly summarizes what the eye cream is supposed to do:

‘’Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream contains highly concentrated collagen to lift wrinkles around eyes while improving skin elasticity.’’

I didn’t find much on the Internet about the eye cream either in terms of reviews so I thought that I’d just find out about everything by using it myself. So when it reached my door, this is what it came in.

It came in a small cardboard box in which there was a slim tube of the cream. Initially, I thought that it’d last me max. 2 weeks as the tube was tiny but somehow, after 2 months of using it regularly, I still have some left. O.O Here’s what was inside.

Ingredients and Texture

Because the packaging didn’t have any ingredients list in English, here’s the one I found on CosDna  (and which I used to see if the eye cream was worth buying before I actually did it). It looks really decent- contains Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Adenosine, some peptides, plant oils and extracts and Beta-Glucan. Seems like a really nice blend.

When it comes to a texture, it’s more like an eye GEL nor an eye CREAM. It’s transparent, has no scent (literally- no scent), and is really easy to spread. When I saw it, it seemed like an eye cream made perfect for me. But it turned out it has some… drawbacks.

My thoughts

image1 (1).jpeg

Let’s start with what I liked about the eye cream. The Collagen Power Firming Eye Cream by Mizon certainly appealed to me in terms of the gel-like consistency that is easy to spread, absorbs really quickly and sits well under my physical sunscreen. When I applied it on my face, after a few minutes, there was no trace of it- it absorbed entirely and left no scent. I also really liked the ingredients it contains- the list is full of skin-friendly stuff that should do wonders to your skin.

Unfortunately, the eye cream didn’t do wonders for mine. It did moisturize my eye area pretty well but it didn’t eliminate or diminish the tiny wrinkles I’ve had around under my eyes. So I can say it didn’t live up to the first part of its claim (lifting wrinkles around the eyes). Has my skin become more elastic? Hard to say. Maybe. I didn’t notice that many new wrinkles since I started using it so maybe it did improve my skin elasticity to an extent. But my skin is quite young anyway. And I try to eat healthily. So to attribute the no-new-wrinkles solely to the working of the eye cream would be an exaggeration. That’s all from me.

Have you tried this eye cream? If yes, what do you think about it?

Swanicoco Pore Care Tightening Serum Review

Hi guys, happy Wednesday! Today’s review is about a product to control sebum, which I’ve been testing for three months. One of the employees of the brand (Kevin) was kind and contacted me to see if I was interested in trying several of their products, to which I said Yes immediately, because I had previously read about them in the reviews of other girls and they said good things, for its ingredients and all that. Also, I apologize for the quality of the photos, these days the light has been terrible and this was the best I could get. Greetings ^^

swanicoco pore care serum

To begin with I’ll tell you a little about the history of the brand:
Swanicoco started his business creating naturally fermented soaps. To produce excellent natural soaps, carefully select the best medicinal herbs, boil them and then ferment them.
Currently, they are the leading natural cosmetics company in the Republic of Korea. Thanks to its corporate philosophy, only what is obtained from nature and not artificial chemicals, are the best. In addition, they give top priority to obtaining high-quality ingredients, participate in incessant biodevelopment research to create a natural biological system,
Swanicoco doesn’t use ingredients that are harmful to the skin, such as dyes, artificial fragrances, chemical preservatives, steroids, alcohol, mineral oil, parabens and benzophenones. Instead, they try their best to use only natural and fermented extracts, they have engaged in relentless research to make sure that the natural components don’t conflict with each other when combined. They have obtained the optimal mixing method. Thanks to their efforts to create natural cosmetics that are safe, hypoallergenic, soft and ideal for all skin types, they have managed to integrate biotechnology into natural organic ingredients so that their cosmetics have the maximum effect of improving the skin.
Product Information
As our skin ages, we lose elasticity, which leads to naturally wider pores. Larger pores allow more sebum secretion, creating oily skin and other complexion problems. So, Swanicoco created the Serum to Tighten the Pores! This serum contains a patented ingredient called Evermat, which reduces by size and regulates the production of sebum. It also helps you maintain a clear and bright skin tone through deep cleansing. As an added benefit, other ingredients found in this serum help promote skin elasticity!
information taken from the Swanicoco official website
The serum arrives in a white box with silver letters and brand logos.
Around the box you can find product information in English and Hangul.

The serum is packaged in a silver-colored bottle, with grey letters and the logo of the brand. Around you can find product information. It contains 30 ml.

It has a practical pump that is pressed down to get the necessary amount.

Apparently, they have changed the design of the packaging, I’m not sure if they made any reformulation in the ingredients too, because all the information on their page is written in hangul.

I was reviewing the list of ingredients in CoSDNA and it looks pretty clean, most of them are safe, not irritating and don’t cause acne.
I leave the links to the pages of ingredient analysis above, in case you want to read it, I tried to add the product in Skincarisma but the page is not working, when they fix it I will add it and update the post.
[UPDATE] Skincarisma’s page is already working and he let me add the ingredients of the product, I leave the direct link above.
Water, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, butylene glycol, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, 1,2-hexanediol, enantia chlorantha bark extract, oleanolic acid, allantoin, betaine, sodium hyaluronate, carbomer, xanthan gum, arginine, anthemis nobilis flower extract, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) extract, portulaca oleracea extract, centella asiatica extract, punica granatum fruit extract, and cymbopogon schoenanthus oil.
Its texture is light and absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave a sticky feeling.
It has a white tone, similar to milk.

When I read about the brand for the first time I was very intrigued, I was struck by the fact they worked with natural and fermented ingredients, so when they proposed to review some of their products I thought it was the opportunity to try them.
This is a serum with a light texture, which is absorbed quickly and allows you to follow the steps of your routine, the problem is that I didn’t see the results they promise, it’s  supposed to decrease sebum production and fill it, but being honest I couldn’t notice any of the above.
I have some long pores on the sides of my nose and I noticed that it soften the area and fill a little, but it’s a momentary effect and I think to be a product that costs around $30 should do much more.
Apart from the disappointment with this product, I can tell you that I tried a duo of toner and emulsion of the brand and those are very good (I think the best, of all that I could try of them), just finish writing the review, I will share it with you.

*  Good for dry and mixed skin

*  Free of parabens, silicones, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils.

*  It’s not sticky

* It doesn’t leave lasting effects.

* Doesn’t minimize or improve the appearance of pores.
